French Alps on the map

The French Alps are located in eastern and southeastern France, along the borders with Switzerland and Italy. The area stretches through regions such as Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and includes famous mountain ranges, valleys and alpine towns. Chamonix is close to the Swiss and Italian borders, at the foot of Mont Blanc, while Annecy and Savoie lie further west in a landscape of lakes, valleys and mountains.

The region's location makes it particularly interesting for round trips. From here, it is close to Swiss Alpine landscapes, Italian mountain passes and French cultural cities, which provides many opportunities to combine nature experiences with food, history and local traditions.
